PSI ENGINEERING CASE STUDY
Autoslip† Case Study

A computer manufacturer and distributor based in the U.S is shipping direct to customer orders from their existing facility.
Their distribution center ships an average of 16,800 cartons per day across a period of 2 shifts. Most of the cartons require multi page packing slips which are manually printed, folded and inserted into a pouch and then applied by hand to the side of a box.
In order to increase throughput, reduce labor costs and error rates, the customer needed to automate their manual process of printing and attaching packing slips to cartons.
Project Results
PSI analyzed the operation and installed an Autoslip on all four of the customers shipping lanes. The Autoslip automated the packing slip process without the customer having to make changes to their document or warehouse management software.
The customer was able to reduce the packslip processing time by 40% per order which resulted in an estimated $150,000 direct labor savings per year. In addition, the customer was also able to reduce order paperwork errors and was able to avoid process changes to their current operation.
